Grade
by recommendation
Not
all qualities in martial arts such as experience, leadership, devotion
and dedication are quantifiable, yet they are to be respected and treasured.
Recommendation grades were created with this idea in mind. Not all
candidates have the technical ability to fulfill the criteria for a
given grade but a dan grade signifies more than technical ability,
especially in senior dan ranks.
JKF
Wadokai has established a recommended dan grade for each of the dan
ranks.
Practical dan ranks do not have any time in grade requirement between ranks
until 5th dan.
A
recommended dan rank is required to have time in grade before challenging
the next higher
dan grade (unless they retake the dan and pass the practical examination).
A
recommended dan rank will not serve as a prerequisite for any requirement
for JKF Wado Kai
licenses or titles such as instructor's or examiners' licenses.
Recommended
dan candidates must pay the full recommended dan rank fee.
Candidates can attempt practical dan examinations at the equivalent rank at
any time.
Upon
passing a practical equivalent dan examination, a candidate must submit
the practical dan fee at that time. The recommended dan grade fee will
not be refunded.
